PASSERIFORMES: Neosittidae
Daphoenositta chrysoptera
I was watching a sittella high in the top of a tree and lamenting how poor the photos would be when one flew down to a slender sapling right next to me. I had time for one shot and it was gone.
Sittellas seem to work down a tree while treecreepers start low and work up a tree.
There are at least five recognised races of Varied Sittella in Australia.
This is leucocephala, White-headed Sittella.
